OPEN EVENING

The Club will be hosting an Open Evening on Friday, 21st November, 2008,  which any miniaturist with internet access is welcome to attend.  Jane Harrop will be holding one of her very popular Workshops, commencing at 7.30 pm UK time.

The subject of the Workshop will be "Tinsel Time" (photograph below).  No woodworking skills will be necessary to complete this.  The cost of the kit will be £38.00, post free.  Payment can be made by £sterling cheque, or by PayPal, in which case a £1.60 surcharge will have to be made.   Admission to the Workshop is by purchase of the kit.

Please complete the application form, and either print and post it with your cheque and a self-addressed label or, if paying by PayPal, use the Submit button.  Closing date for applications is 1st October, 2008. Once you have paid for your kit, you will be asked to join the Yahoo group which has been set up to facilitate communication between everyone taking part.

On this workshop we shall be making a 1/12th scale leather upholstered Chippendale wing chair and a mahogany side table, together with a wooden box full of Christmas decorations. The chair and side table are suitable for settings from the late eighteenth century onwards. The Christmas decorations are more modern, and can be displayed during the festive scene, and then packed away in the wooden storage box until the following year. All of the wooden kits will be pre-cut to size for ease of construction.

The cost of the workshop includes all materials to make up the project, a right-angled gluing jig and postage. There will be a choice of coloured leather available for the wing chairs, so please state the colour you would like, together with an alternative, when ordering your kit.

You will need: Basic tool box inc.

                       Craft knife

                       Small sharp scissors

                       Paintbrush

                       Tacky glue

                       Acrylic paint

                       Beeswax polish
